We’ve actually been to this cafe several times in the past, Pre-covid (did that really happen, when we weren’t allowed outside !!), but have only just gotten round to doing the review. The cafe is through the shop and is huge with loads of inside and outside seating. It’s got a proper cafe menu with loads of choice, the kind of place for a proper lunch. However we are “coffee and cake people” and it is well set up for that. We cannot comment on the “Tea-cake cafe test” as they don’t do tea-cakes, but the cake selection is good. If you sit outside coffee comes in takeaway cups (I’ve never really understood this, are you more likely to break proper cups if your sat outside?) and is good. Prices are also reasonable but not cheap. The service is friendly and quick. There is a bike rack of sorts, the ones you jam your front wheel into, but spaces are very limited. But the main feature is the view over the valley, atop the Howardian hills, and along with the Heather (when it is is flower), it is very pretty. Certainly a place worth a visit.
