Cycling Club

The Waterfront Cafe at Naburn Marina

This might seem like an odd coffee stop for a group of cyclists who start and finish their rides in York, (as it is only a few miles from the city centre), but this café has become one of our favourites particularly on our Wednesday rides, where we often finish with a coffee stop. It has a good range of cakes, a decent cup of coffee and a pretty good breakfast menu, if this is your thing. It is not the cheapest around but we reckon very good value. And it does a good teacake, with jam and proper butter. All served in post-COVID proper coffee cups and crockery. The staff are all pleasant and the service is very prompt. The outside seating area is massive with loads of seats all positioned to enjoy a view over the river Ouse. They have a huge outdoor covered seating area if the weather is not so clever. It is very welcoming to cyclists with a couple of cycling hanging racks ( the sort you hang your bike on by the saddle) and plenty of fence space to lean your bike. Your bikes are in view if you sit outside. On a sunny, early summers day there are few cafes to rival it.
