Strictly speaking this should not really make it to our section on cafe reviews as it’s not really a cafe. It’s more of a takeaway, with tables outside that you can sit on. But we are not ones to split hairs, and there is a distinct lack of cafes in this part of the world so who are we to complain. Coffee comes in takeaway cups and from a “bean to cup”machine of the kind you get in Wetherspoon pubs (although why you’d be buying coffee in a Wetherspoons is anyone’s guess). So if you are fussy about your coffee, it’s probs best avoided, but it’s hot and taste like coffee so no complaints here (well maybe some little ones). Cakes and other stuff (one of our group had a pork pie which received very good reviews), are very good and there is loads of choice. Prices are great; where else are you getting cake and coffee for 6 average cyclists for under £30, that’s a fiver each for those who struggle with numbers. There are a couple of outside tables, some space to lean your bike against the wall, but I don’t think they have toilets. It a busy place with loads of stuff to buy including cheese, wine and cider, beer and pies. You ain’t ever gonna rave about the place, but it good enough for a quick stop in the summer months if you find yourself out this way.
