Seaways Cafe

It will not take someone with sharp observational skills to note that this is very much a “bikers” cafe. Dominated by lots of late middle aged men (and a smattering of women) in leathers and serious looking machines, this is a popular spot for those who love to speed along the lanes of East Yorkshire. But it is also cycle friendly with some racks tucked away in one corner, (curiously made of wood), loads of outdoor seating (and plenty inside) and a varied menu. You ain’t gonna see too much artisan bread, wooden serving platters and food garnished with rocket and balsamic vinegar, but the teacakes we had were good, two of our group had Cornish Pasties (yeh I know), which they said were very good and the “bean to cup” coffee was acceptable. Service was very friendly and efficient. You are never gonna go seeking out this cafe, as it is at the junction of two busy main roads, but if you find yourself in need of refreshment and are near Fridaythorpe, they we would recommend this place.
