Marigolds Café and Boating, Knaresborough

We love a visit to this riverside café in Knareborough and have never been disappointed by their offering. We would go more often but routes to and from York and a bit limited and at least for the Wednesday ride a little longer than we would like. We have spend many a halfway cycling break, munching and tea cake and looking over the river. At the moment all the offerings, coffee, cakes and the like come on disposable paper plates and paper coffee cups, with definitely do not add to the experience. The service is efficient and friendly and the menu is good. On a lovely Spring or Autumn morning, sitting outside on the terrace seating takes some beating, especially if there are some beginner paddle boarders to provide entertainment. The coffee is good as are the teacakes. There is loads of outside seating, although be aware it gets busy at the weekend and in the summer. Whilst there is no specific cycle storage or racks the railing directly outside the café provide a safe refuge for your bike, but probably best to secure it with a café lock.
