We have cycled past Little Acorns numerous times over the past few years and regularly commented that we should stop, but being close to the start and finish of our ride it’s just not felt right. But a few weeks into May, we put that right and stopped on a warmish, May morning for coffee. And pretty good it was. This is not a place for a large group, the inside seating is limited, with perhaps seating for 15 folk and there are just a couple of tables outside the cafe. There is no proper bike parking and lean against the wall space is limited, but If you sit outside you can keep an eye on the bikes. But what makes this place great, is the friendly service and the very competitive prices. We had coffee, and respectively, sausage roll (which came with a salad garnish) and Bakewell and it all came to just under a tenner. Now compare that with Doyle’s not many miles away and that is half of what you would pay there. It’s never gonna be a take your family or partner out for lunch cafe, it lacks any outstanding features and is located on the main road, but if you want something hearty, the full English looked great, or just want a decent coffee and cake, then you’d do a lot worse than stop here. Highly recommended.
