Majorca 2022 Cycling Trip
May 16 - 2022
We have a total of 16 fine Yorkshire men signed up for the 2022 trip to Majorca. This will be our third trip to Port de Pollenca, the first one in 2018 and then 2019, before the global pandemic put pay to any further trips. So we are all very excited about returning to Majorca, for 4 nights in late September staying in the excellent Pollensa Park and Spa. Having stayed at said hotel on the 2019 trip it comes highly recommended with a fantastic location, great food and really comfy hotel rooms. With the added bonus of a late September date, to ensure the sunshine and an all-inclusive package, what could possibly go wrong. In previous years we have kicked off our trip with an afternoon short, but quite tough ride out to Cap de Formentor and the lighthouse, returning for a few cold beers at the Gran Cafe 1919, down by the seafront at Port de Pollensa. This cafe has quickly established itself as our go-to bar at the end of the days riding, although for some perhaps, once the heady mixture of dehydration and beer kicks it, the 2 mile cycle back to the hotel can be a challenge. 2022 will see us retracing this ride for the 3rd time, with one or two newbies along for the trip for the first time. Whilst we have yet to firm up the cycling details of the trip, we are sure to be taking in one of two of Mallorca’s classic climbs, including perhaps the most iconic and best known climb out of Sa Calobra. But that is all for another day.
